Salary Information:

All Firefighters are hired at the level of     Firefighter I.  Starting pay is as follows:

           (Effective July 1, 2008)
High School Education:  $34,765.65
Associate's Degree:       $36,502.38
Bachelor's Degree:         $38,329.16

 

Bilingual Incentive:  Employees who demonstrate proficiency in certain foreign languages are eligible to receive an additional 5% pay incentive upon graduation from the Training Academy.

Firefighter's Schedule:
Our firefighters work a 24-hour day working an average of 10 days a month.

Work Cycle:
Work (1) day - Off (1) day
Work (1) day - Off (2) days
Work (1) day - Off (1) day
Work (1) day - Off (4) days
...then the cycle begins again.
