Charlotte Fire Department Welcomes Madame Tussauds 9-11 Tribute

"Madame Tussauds New York: Tribute to the Heroes of 9/11" was created by Madame Tussauds Wax Museum with the support of the three firefighters who raised the American flag out of the rubble of the World Trade Center on September 11.

New York City Firefighter Danny Naughton was on hand to give remarks and share his thoughts.  Danny is the driver of Engine #217 from Brooklyn that responded to an incident that forever will be etched in our minds.  Naughton said the exhibit is something that will honor the heroes of September 11 for a long time.  "Something like this exhibit will keep the memory alive so people will never forget them," he said.  "It's not a government memorial; it's not something that they voted on.  This is just something to show America we are still here."

This moving piece of fire service history will be on display daily from 11 am to 2 pm at the Paramount Theater July 17 - August 22, 2004.  The cost is free with park admission.
