CFD Announces Telecommunicator of the Year Award

As part of the celebration of National Telecommunicators Week, April 9-14th, the Charlotte Fire Department Communications Division will again honor one of its own for the 9th annual Telecommunicator of the Year award. The recipient is Lead Telecommunicator Josh Helms, who joined us almost four years ago.

During 2006, the Charlotte Fire Department Communications staff answered over 275,000 telephone calls. There were 84,364 incidents dispatched during that time. Next time you see that fire truck on the way to another call for service, a "thank you" goes out to the 911 Telecommunicator who made that call happen.

Josh Helms named the CFD Telecommunicator of the year for 2007
