Just after 2:30am, Sunday, February 8, 2009, neighbors called 911 to report a fire at the King William Condominiums.  First arriving firefighters reported heavy fire and smoke conditions from a 1st floor home.  Firefighters located an elderly female that had succumed to the fire conditions.  It took 27 firefighters approximately 30 minutes to control the fire and no other injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire was due to a candle left burning unattended in the front living room area.
