Fire Station 2 was Charlotte's first "annexation" station. It was built to protect the first suburb - Dilworth. The original Station 2 was built on South Boulevard and is still standing today. The second Station 2, built in 1948, is home to the Arson Task Force. The current Station 2 is still located in the historic Dilworth neighborhood and was opened in 1982. A wide variety of hazards are protected from residential to commercial, manufacturing, and high rise occupancies.
