2007 Governor's Crime Commission Federal Grant Funds
The Governor's Crime Commission is pleased to announce its 2007 competitive grant process. Grant funds will be awarded to nonprofits, and local and state government agencies to start new and innovative programs that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the justice system, and enhance the quality of service to victims of crime in North Carolina. Pre-applications will be received in the three priority areas of: juvenile justice; criminal justice improvement; and crime victims' services. All 2007 pre-applications must be submitted via the Governor's Crime Commission's website on the internet. Signature pages for the 2007 pre-applications must be received in the Governor's Crime Commission office by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday January, 31, 2007. Guide to Federal Resources for Youth Development
The federal government offers literally billions of dollars to communities across the nation to help young people reach their full potential. A new resource, The Guide to Federal Resources for Youth Development, which has been compiled by America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth, provides comprehensive information on federal funds available to support youth programs. This guide provides information on more than 100 priority programs that are available to communities and directly related to the five core resources of youth development. Each program is listed by the department that operates the program with the appropriate contact information. National Youth Development Information Center
The National Youth Development Information Center has a variety of valuable information relating to funding opportunities for youth development programs including: listing of national foundations, community and/or family foundations and federally supported youth programs. They have also compiled a list of corporations who have a history of supporting local youth development programs. This NYDIC website (http://www.nydic.org/nydic/) contains links to these corporations' web sites.
