Divisions:
There are six divisions within the City's Finance Department: Accounting, Administration, Revenue, Risk Management, Treasury, and Systems. 

Accounting Division  is responsible for maintaining all financial records for the City of Charlotte.  

Administration Division is responsible for the overall management of the Finance Department.

Revenue Division is responsible for collecting payments from water, sewer and stormwater services. 

Tools of the Trade

Risk Management provides insurance, claims, and loss control for the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Treasury Division estimates the City's projected revenue, manages the City's cash assets, and maintains the City's debt program.  

Systems Division is responsible for implementing and maintaining the City's finance systems
