The Charlotte Fire Department and the members of the elite A.L.E.R.T Team have received special training in dealing with hazardous materials. Hazardous materials can range from flammable materials such as gasoline spill to a biological unknowns. 

There are two HazMat trucks stationed out of Fire Station 13 that respond to hazardous material occurrences. The A.L.E.R.T. is called from various agencies to address specific issues if and when they might occur.
