Our Airport Law Enforcement Officers are responsible for ensuring a safe environment for millions of people by patrolling the terminal, parking areas and other properties.
They serve as first responders for all situations on the airport premises including medical emergencies, traffic accidents, security checkpoint violations and aircraft incidents. Several officers participate in a bike patrol unit and there are three FAA-certified K-9 Explosives Detection Teams.
Officers interact regularly with the FAA, FBI, US Customs, US Department of Agriculture, US Immigration and Naturalization, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department and other local, state and federal government agencies that operate within the airport's jurisdiction. |
