Vendor Lists
The City maintains various lists of vendors, arranged both alphabetically, and also by commodity code groupings. Vendor lists by commodity code will be longer because a vendor that provides several products/services will appear on the list for each one.

Commodity Codes
The City of Charlotte utilizes the NIGP (National Institute of Governmental Purchasing) Commodity Codes Index to identify the products and services provided by its vendors.
The commodity code files are in two separate formats. Each file contains the same information, one format being more user-friendly (Excel); the other being more viewer-friendly (Adobe):
Upon opening the Excel chart, search for codes by category using the section dropdown/expansion tool provided; you can also perform keyword searches.
Codes that begin with a 0-8 represent goods and commodities; codes beginning with a 9 represent services.
