What is the Storm Water Economic Development Program?
The Storm Water Economic Development Program assists businesses (commercial or industrial) and housing programs in making improvements to the drainage infrastructure.
Eligibility
Assistance for Storm Water infrastructure improvements is limited to the Communities Within A City (CWAC) area and the officially designated distressed business districts.
Housing projects are also eligible if they are sponsored by Community Development Corporations or community housing development corporations such as Habitat for Humanity.
Storm Water Services will reimburse some or all costs if improvements:
- Convey public runoff
- Increase the runoff or have other negative impact downstream
- Not be in the floodway or include the cost of curb and gutter
- Are made to the street right-of-way directly adjacent to the site
Program Guidelines
Projects will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis. The developer will be reimbursed for improvements by the Storm Water Economic Development Program:
- Storm Water Services must approve the design and cost estimate before any work has begun
- All work must be inspected by Storm Water Services or their representative
- Most projects will be funded on actual cost.
