The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) offers a variety of loan programs to assist small businesses. Several programs offered by the SBA are enumerated below. For additional information on loan and other programs offered by the SBA, visit the SBA website.
- SBA 7(a) Loan Guaranty – A loan guaranty program wherein the SBA provides a bank with a guaranty of a percentage of the bank's total loan to the small business.
- SBA 504 Loan Program – Provides long-term, fixed-rate financing to small businesses to acquire real estate, machinery or equipment for expansion or modernization. Direct loans are provided through a Certified Development Corporation (CDC) and typically involve a primary loan from a bank.
- SBA Micro Loans – Small loans – up to $35,000 – to start-up, newly established, or growing small business concerns.
- SBA Community Express Loan Program - Made available in the Charlotte area through various local and national lenders, the program provides business financing from $5,000 - $50,000 and is accessible by attending workshops held at various locations in the Charlotte and surrounding areas. - HUBZone Empowerment Contracting Program – a certification/contracting program that provides Federal contracting preferences to small businesses that have their principal office in, and employ staff that reside in, HUBZones
