Infrastructure Grant Stories

Developed in 1998, the Infrastructure Grant program provides reimbursement grants for City-required improvements such as landscaping, sidewalks, curb and gutter and backflow prevention that are triggered by new construction projects along the City's distressed business corridors.  Examples of projects that have participated in this program are below!

6514 N. Tryon Street - New construction at this site triggered City required landscaping, curb and gutter and backflow prevention.

2109 N. Graham Street - BEFORE. The total scope of this project entailed demolishing the dated and deteriorating existing site improvements and construction of a new retail center.

2109 N. Graham Street - AFTER.  Construction of the new retail center triggered City required curb, sidewalks and landscaping, including installation of numerous small maturing trees (Tree Ordinance) and shrubbery (Zoning Ordinance - screening for parking).
