What is the Infrastructure Grant Program?
The Infrastructure Grant Program provides grants to independently-owned businesses and multifamily infill developers for City required expenses. The grants shall not exceed $10,000 or 10% of the total private investment, whichever is less.

Eligible Expenses:

  • Required landscaping
  • Required curb, gutter, sidewalk
  • Backflow prevention

Eligible Businesses:

  • Commercial or industrial business
  • Multi-family residential construction projects containing four or more dwelling units.
  • Ineligible properties shall include chain stores, department stores, tattoo and body piercing, adult bookstores, bars, hotel/motels, fast food restaurants, gas stations, and businesses that have received funds from the City's Business Investment Program or the Facade Improvement Grant Program.
  • Property must be properly zoned.
  • All real property taxes must be paid in full and current.

Eligible Geography:
Businesses, commercial and industrial zoned properties located in the City's Business Services Program Geography are eligible. Click here to find out if your property lies within the eligible geography or view the Business Corridor Revitalization Geography Map (pdf/129k).

How the Program Works:

  • Applicants submit an application to the Economic Development Office.
  • Staff reviews applications quarterly to determine if projects meet program objectives.  If the project is eligible for participation in the program, Staff determines amount of grant and an award contract is signed.
  • The Applicant completes the entire project, inlcuding the infrastructure improvements, after which invoices of actual costs and photographs of the completed project are provided to the City.
  • City inspects the project to confirm compliance.
  • Grant funds are disbursed upon completion of the project.
  •  The City does not reimburse for work done or costs incurred prior to application approval and contract signing.
