Customer Service & Information (CS&I) is responsible for the evaluation of each customer who visits the Kuralt Centre facility to ensure appropriate services are received.

Reception staff at the Wallace Kuralt Centre serve over 75,000 visitors each year.  An initial screening is conducted for new applicants, and each customer's needs are evaluated to ensure appropriate referrals are made. Once the appropriate department is notified, reception staff monitor each customer to ensure that he/she is seen timely, and that any special needs are met.

DSS Call Center operators are trained to answer questions, document reported changes and provide referrals.

Call Centers
CS&I is also responsible for the Citizen's Information & Referral (CIR) and the Customer Service Group (CSG) Call Centers.  CSG operators are trained to answer basic questions about individual cases; document reported changes; and provide referrals to other services and agencies. All reported changes are forwarded to case managers for appropriate action.  CIR operators are knowledgeable in DSS programs, services and referral resources in the community.

DSS Call Center Number: 704-353-1500.

Other services available on the first floor of the Kuralt Centre are Youth Employment Certificates ("Work Permits"), applications for Library Cards and Voter Registration.
