Human Resources (HR) is responsible for providing recruitment / selection services, employee relations assistance, job classification and compensation services, and information assistance related to all benefits offered by Mecklenburg County.   

Services provided include: 

• Assisting internal and external customers with accessing information about job vacancies via the Intranet /Internet. 
• Recruiting and retaining qualified candidates continues to be one of our focus areas. DSS held their first Social Work Job Fair which was a great success.  A mini Job Fair was held to recruit for Social Workers in the Family Intervention unit.    HR recently purchased Computer Skills Assessment software that will ensure employees hired have proficient computer skills. 
• Conducting the DSS New Hire Orientation
• Facilitating the DSS Future Leaders program and the DSS Administration Awards Committee.
• Working closely with other divisions and is considered a business partner.  HR attends various meeting to discuss work practices for the unit.
• Assisting employees and management in resolving various concerns / issues.  Consistency of policy application is the key to success in this area.
