National Center for Arts & Technology (NCAT) for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community

"A successful life is not something you simply pursue, it is something that you create, moment by moment." - Bill Strickland

A feasibility study is underway to determine if the youth education and adult job training programs successful in other communities can be duplicated in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

What is NCAT?
Over the next 12 to 18 months, a feasibility study is being conducted to determine opportunities for replicating the National Center for Arts and Technology (NCAT). The NCAT strategy is comprised of two programs - a youth arts and an adult career education program. Manchester Craftsmen's Guild (MCG), which is an arts and learning center, and Bidwell Training Center (BTC), which specializes in industry-specific job training for adults are the specific titles of each program.

The two prong approach serves two populations: at-risk youth ranging in age from 9th - 12th grade and adults who are economically disadvantaged, underserved, and in need of marketable job skills.
