Barbara Bell is this year's hero for Timeliness. Barbara works in the Sheriff's Office providing internal support for functions such as hiring new employees. She is known for the efficient and timely manner in which she performs her duties.

The 2008 hero for Courtesy and Respect is Lance Nelson of the Veterans Services Office within Community Support Services. Lance provides guidance on services available to veterans from the World War II era to those returning from recent duties in Iraq and Afghanistan. Because of the extremely personal nature of this type of work, Lance's initial customer interaction is often with someone emotional, frustrated and wanting to unload on who represents the system. By providing a high level of respect and courtesy to the customer, he steadily moves the customer experience to one of sharing and solution.
