My County Budget is a web-based simulator designed to provide an inside look at the content and workings of the Mecklenburg County budget.  Since the budget decisions facing our elected officials revolve around choices and consequences, the simulator is designed to reflect this decision making process. 
 
You will have the opportunity to choose whether or not to fund services, observe the how those choices affect the tax rate, and conclude by printing a list of services you have chosen to fund and/or eliminate.  Please read the tutorial carefully before proceeding. The simulator will be much more useful if you understand how it works before you begin.
The simulator is designed ONLY to illustrate the decision making process and the impact those decisions have upon the tax rate.
