Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services Receives Awards

On Thursday, October 22, the National Association of Flood and Stormwater Management Agencies (NAFSMA) announced that Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services had won two communication awards: the national Award of Excellence for 2009 as well as the first place award for Excellence in Communication for Public Awareness of Flooding and Flood Prevention. NAFSMA recognized Storm Water Services' extensive and timely public information efforts after destructive flooding in Charlotte in August 2008.  


Communications for Public Hearing on Proposed Rental Property Ordinance

Communications for the public hearing scheduled for the Monday, November 9 City Council Business Meeting include a postcard mailed to more than 350 neighborhood leaders and an electronic postcard e-mailed to more than 360 neighborhood leaders. Information was also distributed in the October 28 edition of CMail, the City's electronic news notification service with more than 1,100 subscribers. CMPD also distributed information in its 39 Response Area Commander localized newsletters.

A media advisory is scheduled for November 3 with information about the ordinance and how citizens and stakeholders interested in speaking for three minutes can sign up with the Clerk's Office.
