A public meeting will be held Thursday, August 20 from 6-8 pm at Mouzon United Methodist Church, 3100 Selwyn Avenue, to discuss the possibility of installing sidewalk on Pinehurst Place from Wakefield Drive to East Woodlawn Road.
The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on the proposed project. Within two weeks after the public meeting, City staff will review the property owners' input and return the official City Sidewalk Request Petition to the original requestor. The petition will contain key information about the project as determined through resident input as well as design considerations identified by staff. The petition is required to be signed by at least 60% of the property owners on both sides of the street and submitted to the City. When a valid petition is submitted, the sidewalk will then be placed on the Sidewalk Priority List and built by CDOT as funding becomes available.
This process for identifying and rating sidewalk projects was adopted by City Council in May 2005. Utilizing this process, at least 25% of the property owners or tenants, (comprising both sides of the street), must request sidewalk before a public meeting is held or a City Sidewalk Request Petition is developed.
