On June 22, 2009 City Council will be asked to approve an In Rem Demolition request for the property located at 2120 West Trade Street. City Council deferred consideration of this In Rem Demolition request on May 27 in anticipation of an impending sale and repair of the structure.

CMPD Chief Rodney Monroe is currently attending the National Executive Institute (NEI) training program in Australia at the invitation and expense of NEI. The focus of the training is strategic leadership development, increasing cooperation throughout the law enforcement community and building domestic, international, governmental, and private sector relationships.

The National Executive Institute is the FBI's premier executive training initiative. For more than three decades, NEI has provided leadership development for Bureau executives and for the heads of the largest law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and overseas. Chief executives of the largest law enforcement organizations in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Australia are nominated to attend and must oversee departments with more than 500 sworn officers serving a population of 250,000. The program consists of three one-week training sessions throughout the year where two are hosted by the FBI Academy and the third typically conducted overseas in concert with global partners.

Executives from the U.S. are nominated by the Special Agent in Charge of their local FBI field office. International invitations are extended through our Legal Attachés in U.S. embassies worldwide.

The City of Charlotte has been privileged to have three of its Chiefs of Police nominated and accepted into membership of NEI.
