At the December 10, 2007 Dinner Briefing, Finance and the external auditor presented the results of the FY2007 audit. At that time, the auditor indicated that two letters would be issued - the SAS-61 Letter and the Management Letter. Both of those communications are attached for your review. The SAS-61 Letter communicates informational items to the elected officials. The Management Letter communicates accounting items the auditors feel could be improved. There are no substantive items included in either letter.
Charlotte Region Fast Lanes Study Key Stakeholder Workshop

This is a reminder of the Charlotte Region Fast Lanes Study workshop that will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 9:30 am to 1:45 pm at the Carole Hoefener Center, 610 E. 7th Street in Uptown Charlotte. The purpose of the workshop is to review information from the feasibility analysis that considered either adding or converting travel lanes on several of the region's freeways and arterials to include High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV), High Occupancy Toll (HOT) or other types of special use lanes. The study was formerly known as the Charlotte Region HOV/HOT/Managed Lanes Study.
Council members and interested City staff are invited to attend the workshop, which will include other elected officials, media and interested local and state staff from throughout the Charlotte region. Lunch will be provided.
The study's final report is due out next summer. Information pertinent to the study may be accessed on the Mecklenburg-Union Metropolitan Planning Organization (MUMPO) website,
www.mumpo.org.
