In response to customers in the First Ward neighborhood, CATS will extend service on the South End Shuttle effective July 30, 2007 on a trial basis. The South End Shuttle will be extended to the First Ward area by operating via 11th, Brevard, 9th, Davidson and 7th before continuing back to Tryon for travel to Uptown and to Atherton Mill in South End.
Service will operate Monday through Friday during peak traffic hours. Five morning southbound and five morning outbound trips will operate beginning at 7:15 am. Four afternoon southbound and four afternoon northbound trips will operate beginning at 4:05 pm. Ridership will be monitored over the next several months to determine if this extended service should be continued once the South End Shuttle is discontinued when LYNX Blue Line starts operating in November.
