Water Repairs On Steepleton Way

On Monday afternoon, customers on Steepleton Way contacted the City about having no water pressure. A Utilities field technician responded, located a broken water pipe and immediately requested the next available crew to be dispatched to this location. A crew was assigned to the repair but was working at another location and did not get to the Steepleton repair prior to the end of shift.
 
Tuesday morning, customers notified dispatch that they still did not have water and a crew was immediately sent out to fix the pipe. Also on Tuesday, a local television news station inquired about the repair.  During the repair Tuesday afternoon, the pipe broke a second time and required additional work.
 
Water service was on briefly Tuesday evening.  Around 8:30 pm, the pipe broke a third time. Water crews fixed the pipe late Tuesday night. Water service was restored early this morning.
 
Based on these breaks, Utilities is investigating whether this neighborhood's pipe needs to be replaced - and if so, when.
