Information Items:
The first annual "Pull for Charlotte" will take place Saturday, April 14, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at the airport. The event location is on Hangar Road by the US Airways Maintenance Hangar. The fundraising event will fund scholarships for high school students to further their education at Central Piedmont Community College. Teams of up to 20 people will compete to pull a 145,000-pound aircraft. The distance of the pull is approximately 20 feet. Prizes will be awarded to the three fastest teams and the team demonstrating the most pride and spirit. Pull for Charlotte is hosted by the Charlotte Chamber Airport Chapter and Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
The event sponsor is US Airways.

Event spectators may purchase a $5 general admission boarding pass in advance which will provide access to the competitions, along with food and beverage tickets; otherwise, tickets are $10 at the door. To date, $16,000 in cash sponsorships has been raised.
