Urban Land Institute Panel Discussion on Eastland Mall

Attached is the press release concerning the Urban Land Institute Panel on Eastland Mall that will be working in Charlotte, March 5-8, 2007.  The Panel will be presenting their report on Thursday, March 8, from 10:00 - 11:00 am in Room 267 at the Government Center.  The Mayor, Council and the public are invited to attend.
 

2006 Sustained Professional Purchasing Award

The Charlotte/Mecklenburg Procurement Services Division of Business Support Services has been awarded the Sustained Professional Purchasing Award for the 6th consecutive year in a row. The Carolinas Association of Governmental Purchasing makes this award to purchasing departments that meet and maintain high standards in areas such as professional development, continuous improvement programs, environmental awareness, minority participation, automation and electronic commerce.
 

2007 Legislative Agenda

We are happy to report that all local bills for the City of Charlotte's 2007 Legislative Agenda have met the bill drafting deadline of February 27, 2007.  City staff made a presentation on each legislative request to the Mecklenburg Delegation in Raleigh on February 13, with assignments for each local  bill accomplished according to the attached chart.  We will continue to keep you updated on the status of all bills as they work their way through the Committee process and through each branch of the Legislature.  In Boyd Cauble's absence, both Bob Hagemann and I will be available to answer any questions you may have.
