The Mayor has asked that Council members be present to start the session promptly at 5:00 pm, so all of these topics can be addressed prior to the citizens' forum at 6:30 pm.
During the Awards and Recognitions portion of the City Council's Business Meeting on Monday, February 26, we will honor City employees from five different Key Business Units who have returned from active military duty by presenting them with their Blue Stars we removed from our service flag when they returned. This is the fifth ceremony we have held since the war in Iraq began. We are delighted to be able to recognize the service of these employees, and we look forward to honoring the 20 employees still deployed upon their safe return. Family members of the Blue Star recipients were invited to attend the ceremony.
As we have done in the past, the Mayor and Council will have the opportunity to introduce individual Blue Star recipients. We will go over the logistics at the dinner meeting.
