Raintree Lane Sidewalk Project Update

On August 19, The Charlotte Observer published an article titled "Road to Frustration Paved with Unwanted Paths" in reference to a sidewalk project planned for Raintree Lane. The article did not report all aspects of the project and the reasoning behind it. The attached provides background information about the sidewalk project.
Lowes Motor Speedway Transit Service Effective October 14, 2006

CATS is working with Lowes Motor Speedway to provide bus service to weekend race events, starting with the Bank of America 500 Nextel Cup on October 14, 2006.
Lowes Motor Speedway would guarantee to reimburse all operating costs net of a proposed $15 round trip fare. Buses would begin shuttling at 2:00 pm from the old Coliseum parking lot, and could receive special operating considerations along I-77 and US-49 in the form of restricted access lanes for buses only. Up to twenty buses would provide the service.
Lowes would assist in promotion of the service by permitting race fans to purchase their bus pass at the same time that they purchased their race ticket.
