City Manger's Follow Up Meeting with Neighborhoods
The City Manager and staff follow-up meeting with neighborhood leaders has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to provide a response (resolutions, strategies and best practices) regarding issues that were identified by the neighborhoods in a meeting with City staff held in August. The meeting will be held in CH-14.

City Manager Performance Evaluation Material

Today's packet includes the performance evaluation material for the City Manager and the performance evaluation forms prepared by Lyle Sumek and approved by the City Council on Monday night. Council is asked to complete the performance evaluation forms and return them to Lyle Sumek by Wednesday, October 6. A pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope has been included with evaluation forms. Mr. Sumek will compile the information in preparation for the City Manager's evaluation on Monday, October 11.


Art in Transit Exhibit

My Place, My Choice, My Ride, My Story, CATS' Exhibition of Proposed Public Art for the South Corridor Light Rail Project (SCLRP), is currently on display at The Middleton-McMillan Gallery at Spirit Square through October 23. You are invited to view the proposals and see how they will be integrated into the SCLRP. Spirit Square is located at 345 N. College Street and open to the public Monday - Saturday from 9 - 6 pm and Sunday 1 - 5 pm. There is no charge for viewing the exhibit. In the event you are unable to get to Spirit Square, attached is a catalogue showing an exhibition of the proposals.


CMPD Biennial Citizen Survey

The Police Department's 2004 Citizens Satisfaction Survey is being conducted during the next month. Marketwise has been retained to conduct the survey and will begin calling Charlotte-Mecklenburg residents this week.

The survey is conducted every two years to evaluate citizen perceptions of the partnership between CMPD and the community. Objectives include:
   -  Measuring perceptions of community and police interaction
   -  Measuring satisfaction with the services provided by CMPD
   -  Exploring perceptions of community safety and crime levels
   -  Measuring perceptions of safety and police services against demographic variables

Results of the survey will be shared with Council.
