Recycle What's In Your Red Bin!

Did you know that Solid Waste Services provides curbside recycling collection for all Charlotte residents? So instead of trashing that milk jug, soda can and catalog, simply put them and other recyclables in your red recycling bin and place it curbside by 6:30 a.m. on collection day.

What can be recycled?

  • No. 1 and No. 2 plastics
  • Glass
  • Aluminum
  • Cardboard
  • Newspaper and inserts
  • Magazines and junk mail

How should recyclables be prepared for collection?

  • Remove lids and rinse out all containers
  • Cut cardboard to 3-feet by 3-feet (or smaller) pieces

Need an extra bin?

Pick up a free recycling bin at various locations throughout the city.  To find one near you, visit http://curbit.charmeck.org.
