Help Steer Charlotte's Transportation Future

If you want to help steer Charlotte's transportation future ... it's not too late.

1.  Take the Transportation Funding and Priorities Survey - open through Friday, March 31.
2.  Attend the last public workshop to learn what programs and projects need funding, and what conditions will be like with and without the Transportation Action Plan (TAP)

The survey and workshop is an opportunity for you to voice your level of concern with current and future transportation conditions.


CATS Begins Service To Carowinds

If you're heading to Paramount's Carowinds this season, leave your car at home and take a relaxing and cheaper way to get there.  Charlotte Area Transit System's (CATS) Route 42X Carowinds Express begins service Saturday, March 25.

Bus service will be provided every day that the park is open.  Commuters can board at the Charlotte Transportation Center and go straight to the park without any stops.  One-way fare is $1.65.

Get Involved

Looking for an opportunity to get involved in local government?  Apply for a position on one of the City's Boards and Commissions. 

On Monday, April 10, City Council will make nominations to fill vacancies or make reappointments on various boards and committees.

Applications may be obtained online or by calling Jeanne Peek at 704-336-2248.  All applications must be properly signed and returned to the City Clerk's Office by Monday, April 3 at 5 pm.

Local Police and Fire Departments will be involved with the National Anthem, Color Guard Presentation, Honorary Puck Drop and a skills competition during the intermission.

Adopt A City Street

Make a difference in the community by participating in the "Adopt-A-City-Street" program. Businesses and individuals can adopt a specific roadside area and commit to clean it at least four times a year.

To sign up for the program, complete an online request form.  Once accepted, two signs with your company or name will be installed on the roadside that you selected.  If you've adopted a City street and would like to report a recent cleanup, complete the Clean-Up-Report and email it to KCB@ci.charlotte.nc.us.

Solid Waste Services currently is working to update its website.  The goal is to provide all customers with essential solid waste information in an engaging and educational format.

Take a tour of the website and complete a brief survey to share your thoughts.  Your feedback is important, and will be used to give you more than what's already offered.  The survey deadline is Friday, April 7.


11th Annual Neighborhood Symposium

Nominate A Deserving Officer

Do you know a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer who builds positive, problem-solving relationships with the community?  Nominate them for the 27th Annual Police Community Relations Awards, sponsored by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee.
