Project Background
An Area Plan for Optimist Park was adopted in 2002 in response to participants who supported the planning process.  Area residents indicated the need for sidewalks to link Optimist Park to surrounding communities near the Greenway.  The purpose of this plan is to address the livability and long term viability of Optimist Park by developing strategies to address the neighborhood's physical, social and economic conditions.  This neighborhood serves as a gateway to the Center City from north Charlotte.

Cost:  $275,000
Project costs typically include all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.

The Engineering & Property Management (E&PM) project team will manage the Optimist Park Sidewalk project through a four stage process.  Click here to learn more about how City projects are selected, designed and built.
