A South Corridor Infrastructure Project (SCIP)

This project improved pedestrian safety and access along South Boulevard near Rail Crossing Lane.

Objectives:

  • To improve pedestrian access to the future New Bern Light Rail Station
  • To make area aesthetically pleasing

Cost:  900,000
Please note that the project cost includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.  
 
Construction Phase (Completed in Septemer 2005)
Landscaping Phase (Completed in March 2006)
Both the construction and landscaping were implemented in coordination with the construction of the adjacent development.  This process allowed a complete package of private development and public infrastructure to be constructed concurrently.
