A South Corridor Infrastructure Project
This project is part of the South Corridor Infrastructure Improvements that support the integration of transportation and land use along the South Corridor. This project will add sidewalks and bicycle lanes along Old Pineville Road from Bourbon Street to Exmore Street. Planting strips will also be included as part of this project.
Objective:
- To improve pedestrian access and connectivity to the South Corridor Light Rail Stations

Old Pineville Road (Center)
This South Corridor Infrastructure Project will provide roadway, sidewalk and bike lane connectivity in the South Corridor.
What's happened? City staff worked with Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jenrigan, Inc. to plan and design the improvements. Planning and design is complete. Real Estate acquisition is currently underway and construction has begun. The project team continues to work with Norfolk Southern Railroad on coordination and drainage issues.
What's next? Construction is complete.

Cost: $5,900,000
Please note that the project cost will include all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
The Engineering & Property Management (E&PM) project team will manage the Old Pineville - Center Section through a four stage process.
