Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Elm Lane Intersection
|
Part of the Transportation Program
Many intersections are not pedestrian or bicycle-friendly due to a number of factors, such as a lack of pedestrian signals or crosswalks, signal timing issues, excessive crossing distances, absence of sidewalks or wheelchair ramps, absence of bicycle lanes and miscellaneous intersection design features. This project seeks to improve travel conditions for vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users at the Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Elm Lane intersection.
Objectives:
- Improve travel conditions for vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclist and transit users at existing intersections
- Create more travel choices

This project will identify improvements at this intersection to enhance conditions for vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclist, and transit users at existing intersections.
What's happened? City staff is working with consultants from STV/Ralph Whitehead Associates to plan theh improvement. The team is currently developing alternatives for the intersection. (see the public involvement process below for details)
What's next? The planning phase continues. A final conceptual design will be selected this winter. Following future funding, the design phase can begin.
