Central Avenue Streetscape @ Eastland Mall
|
Part of the City's Eastside Strategy Plan
This project is funded through the Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission and will continue the improvements of past streetscape work on Central Avenue to the area of Eastland Mall (Sharon Amity Road to Reddman Road).
This streetscape project will narrow Central Avenue in the area of the mall to match the completed streetscape work in other sections of Central Avenue. The completed project will include landscaped medians which will allow pedestrians to safely cross the street. The work will also include bicycle lanes, widened sidewalks, planting strips, and landscaping.
Objectives:
- Increased opportunities for landscaping.
- Improvements to both street and sidewalks for increased pedestrian and traffic safety.
- Updated street and pedestrian lighting.
