1993 Environmental Bond Package

 

Under this program, the City has upgraded or replaced more than 100 underground storage tanks (USTs) to meet federal EPA regulations. 

 

At some locations, an environmental assessment indicated contamination.  The City is currently working with the EPA to assess, remediate and monitor contamination at these sites.

 

 

Objectives
     -  Upgrade, remove or replace fuel USTs at City sites
     -  Maintain compliance to EPA monthly leak detection requirements
     -  Assess extent of soil and/or groundwater contamination
     -  Remediate contamination to a level consistent with EPA regulations
     -  Design of new fuel UST systems
      - Remove  abandoned USTs encountered on roadway projects
