Hope Park Neighborhood Improvement Project

A 2010 Neighborhood Bond Project
This project will provide various infrastructure improvement (sidewalk, curb and gutter, drainage, etc.) in the Hope Park neighborhood, which is bordered by The Plaza, Barrington Drive and Milton Road. Full funding for the project is tentatively planned for inclusion in the 2010 bond referendum.
This project may also involve coordination with Charlotte's Storm Water Services and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities on various storm drainage and utility projects such as new water mains.
Objectives:
- Maintain, stabilize and revitalize the neighborhood through comprehensive infrastructure improvements
- Strengthen the neighborhood and surrounding community

Hope Park
This project will build infrastructure improvements such as sidewalk, curb and gutter, and minor storm drainage improvements in the Hope Park neigbhorhood.
What's happened? This new project has been initiated and Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan, Inc. (PBSJ) consultants have been selected for the planning stage.
What's next? The contract for the planning activities is being negotiated with PBSJ (3-4 month process). Upon completion, the planning activities will begin, as early as August, 2008.

Cost: $4,000,000 Please note that this is the NIP funding amount. Additional funding may be identified after the planning phase. Project costs typically include all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
