East Forest

A Neighborhood Improvement Project

In November 2006, voters approved $25,000,000 for neighborhood improvement projects including $2,000,000 in the East Forest neighborhood.  The area is bounded by Independence Boulevard to the northeast, Railroad to the southwest, Sharon Amity to the northwest and Thermal Road to the southeast.

Improvements may include features such as:

  • sidewalks, curb & gutter, storm drainage, street lighting, asphalt paving and driveway aprons
  • sewer and water line upgrades

The plans will be based on safety, cost, benefits, traffic analysis and an extensive public involvement process. Construction of this project is expected to be completed by 2011.
