The City Council Restructuring Government Committee meets throughout the year to discuss issues that will be brought to the full Council. The Committee's recommendation, based on their research and discussion, is an important element in the City Council's final decisions.
During 2008 the Restructuring Government Committee meets at the following dates and times.

Monday, November 24 at 12 p.m. at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center.
1. City Manager's Evaluation Categories

Action: A request to review categories related to the City Manager's performance review was referred. The Committee may propose recommendations to consolidate or clarify categories in order to improve the process for next year. The Committee will continue to review and discuss information provided at its previous meeting. No decisions or recommendations are requested at this time.
2. Citizen Boards/Commissions
Staff Resource: Stephanie Kelly, City Clerk's Office
Action: Staff provided an overview of the current status of Boards and Commissions for the Committee's consideration at its October 30 meeting. The Committee will continue to discuss information provided at the previous meeting. No decisions or recommendations are requested at this meeting.
3. Small Business Opportunity Program (SBOP)
Staff Resource: Tom Flynn, Alban Burney, Economic Development Office
Action: The Economic Development Office will provide an overview of the SBOP including: history, policies, goal achievement and administrative procedures. City Council referred the SBOP to the Committee for review in light of low SBE goal achievement on some major bid awards. No decisions or recommendations are requested at this meeting.
