The LYNX Blue Line is up and running in the South Corridor. Visit the site for information on the Light Rail Rapid Transit and learn how to ride LYNX.
The South Corridor is one of five major transit corridors developed for the 2025 Integrated Transit/Land Use Plan. It was the first project of the plan to be implemented. Because the South Corridor Light Rail Project follows an alignment adjacent to South Boulevard, the project was coordinated with the City's South Corridor Infrastructure Program (SCIP).

This effort represents the first light rail project in North Carolina and has generated more than $400 million in private sector development prior to groundbreaking.
The project is 9.6 mile long running south from uptown Charlotte to I-485. The system operates on separate tracks generally within the Norfolk Southern right-of-way.

Transit stations are located strategically along the corridor and are serviced by CATS' network of feeder buses. Selected stations include park and ride lots and serve as transfer points for local and express buses.
