Parade Permit   704-336-3889
A permit is required to have a parade within the Charlotte city limits.  Applications are available from the Department of Transportation on the sixth floor of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center (600 E. Fourth St.)  The Application and $10 fee are then submitted to the parade committee for approval.  the application must be received by the parade committee a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.

The North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center at Charlotte (130 N. Tryon St.) contains a 2,100 seat concert hall and a 450 seat theater.  The Center is the home of The Charlotte Symphony, The Charlotte Opera, and The North Carolina Dance Theater.

Supported by an advanced 911 communications system, a modern crime lab and trained citizen volunteers, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's more than 1,386 officers and 425 non-sworn personnel work to keep the city safe.  The department involves citizens in Neighborhood Watch and Community Policing efforts and other programs to prevent and solve crimes.  See Crime Prevention, Neighborhood Watch, Crime.
