The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee administers the City's anti-discrimination ordinance, which prohibits discrimination in public accomodations because of race, color, religion, national origin, familial status, sex, or disability. The Committee also sponsors a dispute settlement program, which is an alternative to the court system and seeks to settle disputes through mediation instead of litigation.
