Racing Executive to Speak at King Memorial Service

Charlotte, NC -- Max L. Siegel, president of Global Operations for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. will be the featured speaker at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and Wreath Laying ceremony, Tuesday, January 15th at 11 a.m. at Marshall Park in uptown Charlotte. the ceremony will be conducted at the statue honoring the slain civil rights leader.
 
Seigel is an accomplished entertainment executive, attorney, author, conference organizer and television and film producer. He has appeared on Oprah and Travis Smiley, and has been featured in national major media outlets such as The New York Times, Crain's New York Business, Black Enterprise and Billboard Magazine.
 
The observance will also feature Gospel songstress LeJuene Thompson. Thompson first gained acclaim as a featured vocalist with Gospel's award-winning ensemble, Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers with her lead vocal on the groups' smash hit, "Testify."
 
Radio personality Melanie Clark of Praise 100.9 FM will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the observance. Wilkinson Blvd. Starbucks and Bojangles' Chicken & Biscuits will provide complimentary refreshments and boxed lunches while supplies last.
 
The Memorial and Wreath Laying will kick off a series of activities honoring Dr. King. Each year the Charlotte Mecklenburg Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Planning Committee organizes numerous activities to pay tribute throughout the weekend.
