New Divisions

How will Redistricting affect Neighborhoods and Community Coordinators?
Redistricting will have the overall affect of balancing the workload and bringing total service time into balance throughout all patrol districts.

Changes Mean:

  • Better response from Community Coordinators.
  • More of same officers in your neighborhood.
  • Balanced workload allows for officers to meet response times.
  • Reuniting neighborhoods in same patrol divisions wherever possible.

Community Coordinators continue to play a vital role in the department's effort to be one of the safest large cities in America. With the adoption of the FY2007 budget, City Council approved an additional allocation of 31 community  coordinators, bringing the total to 81. Each patrol district will continue to have at least six community coordinators, many districts will have more.

And just like the communities they serve, officers will remain with the neighborhoods in the current district or be moved to other divisions.
