South Division

About Us
The South Division occupies 57.3 square miles of south Charlotte and southern Mecklenburg County. There are 84 Officers, 3 Response Area Commanders, 7 Sergeants, 1 Investigative Technician and a Captain assigned to the division.

The office is located at 8050 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 100, off Johnston Road, one block south of Pineville-Matthews Road.

The division is divided into three geographically distinct response areas.  Each has a Response Area Team that is responsible for reducing crime at the neighborhood level.  A Response Area Commander leads each team and serves as the area's primary police representative. The division also has a Focused Mission Team which the division commander is able to deploy strategically to be a proactive force in crime hot spots and to address emerging problems.

The division operates three standard work shifts and an overlapping evening shift. The majority of officers are assigned to these shifts.
