In August 2005, Officer John Pou suffered a severe spinal injury while on a family vacation and he is paralyzed. John served the citizens and neighborhoods of the Providence Division for several years before his injury incapacitated him. The Pou Family Fund has been set up to accept tax deductible donations that will go toward buying  equipment that will be necessary to care for John and to improve his quality of life as a quadriplegic.
