About Us
The North Tryon Division comprises nearly 13.4 square miles of historic and older communities, including a strong commercial and industrial presence in north Charlotte. There are 87 Officers, 7 Sergeants, 3 Response Area Commanders, 1 Investigative Technician and a Captain assigned to the division. The office is located at 4045 N. Tryon Street Suite B, in the same building as the Sugar Creek Library, near the intersection with Sugar Creek Road.
The division is divided into three geographically distinct response areas. Each has a Response Area Team that is responsible for reducing crime at the neighborhood level. A Response Area Commander leads each team and serves as the area's primary police respresentative. The division also has a Focused Mission Team which the division commander is able to deploy strategically to be a proactive force in crime hot spots and to address emerging problems.
The North Tryon Division operates three standard work shifts and an overlapping day shift. For more information about division personnel, points of contact, Response Area Teams and special units and projects, please view the additional information about the division.
