North Division

About Us:

The North Division covers approximately 94 square miles and has an estimated population of 75,725. The Division is also responsible for enforcement and safety on two area lakes, Norman and Mountain Island. The Division is allocated 1 Captain, 8 Sergeants, 80 Officers and 1 Investigative Technician. Division personnel are assigned to a variety of assignments including patrol, community coordinators, investigations, lake enforcement and school resource officers.

The Division is divided into three primary response areas. Lakes Norman and Mountain Island are assigned response areas 4 and 5. There are three standard shifts and two overlapping morning and evening shifts for the primary areas. Officers from each shift are assigned to these areas which becomes their area of responsibility. Each response area also has two shift Supervisors assigned to it who are responsible for overseeing customer service in that particular area.
